Gandhinagar: A hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on March 20 in the case of paying salaries and other benefits as permanent employees to the fixed payers of Gujarat.  In the Supreme Court, the case is being fought by the Yogxame Foundation on behalf of Gujarat's fixed payers. Earlier, the Supreme Court had turned a blind eye to the Gujarat government on the issue of fixing the fixed payers and asked why they were not made permanent.

In response to this, the government argued that if they were made permanent, the government treasury could incur a burden of Rs 1,000 crore.  In which the salary of the employees having a monthly salary of Rs. 10500 was increased to Rs.

There are currently 4 million fixed payers in Class 3 and Class 4 in the state.  There are more than 2 million employees who have been permanent since 2011.  Thus, there are at least 6 lakh employees in the state affected by the fixed pay policy.  Employees of Classes 3 and 4 have been employed as fixed payroll in over 15 departments of the state since 2006.
